One of the most interesting feature of this project is the idea of connecting geographical information systems with expert systems in a unique environment, provided by the prototype. This connection allows to use reasoning based rules whenever codified models for assessing risk do not exist and to map the results of the resoning tree according to specific contexts. This is necessary when the evaluation moves from domains like buildings and engineering structures to more complex systems, like cities or regional networks, where the behavior of the human component and the number of mutual links and relations make it difficult to summarize everything in a reasonably simple model.
